Raider True Blessings In The Main Office

Some people do not realize what a school secretary truly is. They think it is answering phones. They think it is paperwork. They think it is “just the office.” But...

Some people do not realize what a school secretary truly is.

They think it is answering phones. They think it is paperwork. They think it is “just the office.”

But those who know, really know.

A school secretary is the person who holds a building together when the world is pulling it apart. The person who keeps things moving when everything feels like it is falling behind. The person who sees students in moments where nobody else is looking. The person who feels the weight of an entire school day, and still chooses to show up with patience, kindness, and strength.

At Middletown High School, that truth lives in the front office.

This blog is for the three secretaries who do far more than their job description will ever say. This is for the three women who help make Middletown High School feel like more than a school.

They make it feel like a home.

The Ones Everyone Runs To

When a student forgets something, they run to the secretaries.

When a parent is worried, they call the secretaries.

When an administrator needs something handled immediately, they go to the secretaries.

When a teacher needs support in the middle of a hectic day, they lean on the secretaries.

And when a student is having a hard day, the kind of day where they are trying not to cry in the hallway, the kind of day where everything feels heavy, the kind of day where they do not know who to trust, they end up in the office.

Not because it is the rule.

Because it is safe.

Because the secretaries are there.

Because they always are.

What People Do Not See

People see the secretaries working. But they rarely see what secretaries carry.

They do not just carry schedules, calls, and paperwork.

They carry fear.

They carry stress.

They carry family situations they were never trained for, but still know how to handle with compassion.

They carry the tears of parents who are trying their best.

They carry the pressure of staff members who are stretched thin.

They carry the needs of students who may be smiling outside, but silently breaking inside.

They carry the moments that do not make announcements, the moments that do not make headlines, the moments that never get posted, but are the most important moments of all.

A secretary can hear a student’s voice and immediately know something is wrong.

A secretary can tell when a parent is panicking, even when the parent tries to hide it.

A secretary can hold back their own emotions, so they can be strong for everybody else.

That kind of strength is not normal.

That is love in uniform.

Middletown’s Front Office Is Not an Office

It Is a Lifeline

At Middletown High School, these three secretaries have created something bigger than a workspace.

They have created an atmosphere.

They have created stability.

They have created trust.

They have created a place where people feel like someone is watching out for them.

When a student walks into that office, they do not just walk into a room, they walk into care.

When a parent calls, they do not just get information, they get reassurance.

When the building is moving fast and the day feels overwhelming, these three secretaries become the steady presence that keeps everything from falling apart.

They are not behind the scenes.

They are the foundation.

And Now They Are Prepped Up

There are moments when people who serve in silence finally get celebrated out loud.

This is one of those moments.

Now, these three Middletown High School secretaries are officially prepped up.

And the truth is, the hoodie is not what makes them special.

It is what it represents.

It represents honor.

It represents appreciation.

It represents that someone finally stopped long enough to say, “We see you.”

Because you cannot put a price on what they do.

You cannot measure the impact of the way they calm a student down.

You cannot quantify how many crises they prevented just by being present.

You cannot calculate how many days they saved by simply being patient when others were frustrated.

They are prepped up because they already live what Major Prep stands for.

Preparation.

Leadership.

Excellence.

Consistency.

Service.

A Thank You That Words Cannot Fully Hold

To the three secretaries of Middletown High School, thank you.

Thank you for being the first ones in the building, and the last ones to stop caring.

Thank you for handling stress with grace.

Thank you for carrying the emotional weight of others without asking for anything in return.

Thank you for being a safe space for students who needed someone.

Thank you for being gentle when people were difficult.

Thank you for being professional even when you were exhausted.

Thank you for being the ones who kept the school day running, even when nobody told you how much you mattered.

You may not always be in the spotlight, but you have been the light.

You are not just secretaries.

You are protectors.

You are leaders.

You are the heartbeat of Middletown High School.

And now, you are not only appreciated.

You are celebrated.

You are honored.

You are prepped up.
